Egg Hunts

On March 29th and 30th, Clinton Sease Farm located in Lexington hosts children’s Easter egg hunts that include a host of other fun attractions. Watch your little ones enjoy the cow train, wagon rides, bubbles, playground, and obstacle course. And grab some pictures with the Easter Bunny while you’re at it!
The EGG-cessible Egg Hunt at Leo’s Landing in Saluda Shoals is a sensory-friendly egg hunt for individuals of all ages. It is specifically designed as a more regulated space for individuals with mental and/or physical disabilities to enjoy hunting for eggs. This event is on March 22 at 6 PM; pre-registration is required, so book your spot today!
Join North Trenholm Baptist Church for a community-wide Easter egg hunt for children of all ages on March 23 at 10 AM, and then stick around for lunch and other treats from local food trucks. They will also collect canned goods to donate to Christian Assistance Bridge, so be sure to bring not only your egg-hunting basket, but your canned items as well!
Easter Church Services
No matter your denominational background, Columbia boasts a number of wonderful churches with Holy Week services and events for you and your loved ones to attend. The following list is by no means exhaustive, but includes a few choices for you to consider. Some are known as historical beauties of Columbia, long-standing and well-established. Others are known for their worship style, be it liturgical or contemporary. Still others are highlighted for their emphasis on family-friendliness and community. No matter your preference, there is something for everyone!
Beautiful and historic First Presbyterian Church on Lady Street in Downtown Columbia hosts services for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. Worship with this dynamic community of faith on Palm Sunday at 8:30 am, 11:15 am, or 6:00 pm. Join for Communion on Maundy Thursday from 6:00-7:00 pm. Good Friday’s service begins with a Hymn Sing at 12:00 pm and is followed by a special service at 12:15 pm. Easter Sunday services will be a joyful celebration of Christ’s victory over the grave; join at 8:30 am, 11:15 am, or 6:00 pm in the sanctuary.
If you are searching for a warm, family-oriented church on Easter Sunday morning, Spring Valley Baptist Church located on Polo Road in Northeast Columbia is a wonderful option. With a fun, vibrant tradition of “flowering the cross,” a welcoming community, and excellent childcare, your family is sure to have a joyful morning in celebration of the risen Christ! In preparation for this event, be sure to enjoy the Good Friday service at First Northeast Baptist Church on Sparkleberry Lane as well. This service is a creative and inspiring collaboration amongst several churches in the Northeast Columbia area.
St. John’s Episcopal Church located on Wheat Street hosts a week of intentional prayer and worship in the days leading up to Easter. Palm Sunday, March 24, is the Sunday of the Passion and highlights Christ’s condemnation, while the week’s following services reflect on his journey to the cross. Services involving Holy Communion and preaching are held in St. John’s Chapel on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 6 pm. In remembrance of the Last Supper, the Maundy Thursday service is held at 7 pm, and the Good Friday service is held the following day at 12:15 pm. Each service delves deeper into the wonder of the saving work of Christ.
